Sightseeing in Torquay

Torquay is a Part of the English Riviera (Also known as Torbay). Thare is always pleanty to to and see in Torquay and the surrounding area whatever the weather. Below are just a few suggestions of things you could do while on holiday in Torquay.
Abbey Sands Torquay is just a few minutes walk from Avenue Park Guest House. With it's flat promenade it is just a short stroll aroud to the harbour, shops, cafes and resturants.
Torre Abbey and Gardens. Torre Abbey mansions and gardens with it's historic museum and art gallery are only 50m away where you can take a gentle stroll through the grounds and gardens to the tennis courts, bowling green, crazy golf, pitch and putt and the beach.
Cockington Village and Country Park. Less that a mile away is Cockington village and 450 acres of country park. Cockington is a beautiful village where you can step back in time through winding lanes and thatched cottages and enjoy cafes and traditional working crafts centre.
Goodrington Sands Paignton. Goodrington sands with its fabulous beach and water park is just a short drive away. There are many other lovely beaches close by: Meadfoot, Oddicombe, Preston, Paignton, Broadsands and Churston to name but a few.
Brixham is a small fishing town. The town is hilly, and built around the harbour which remains in use as a dock for fishing trawlers. It has a focal tourist attraction in the replica of Sir Francis Drake's ship the Golden Hind that is permanently moored there. Brixham Marina is situated in the heart of this picturesque old Devon town.
Dartmouth. The beautiful historic waterside town in South Devon, an historic port at the mouth of the River Dart. Dartmouth is home to the Royal Regatta every August.
Cruise down the River Dart from Totnes, Cross the river and take the Steam Train back to Paignton a bus link is provided back to totnes - known as the Round Robin.

Riviera Centre. We are only a 2 minute walk from The Riviera Centre with it's conference facilities, heated swimming and wave pool, gym, health facilities, bar, restaurants and children's play area is adjacent to the gardens and only 100m from the Guest House.
Paignton Zoo can be reached by bus or car and provides fun day out for all the family.


Living Coasts is Torquay's newest attraction. Situated next to Torquay harbour, Living Coasts takes you on a journey around the coastlines of the world without having to leave Torquay.
